Service Description
The 2-day First Aid at Work Re-qualification course provides a comprehensive set of practical skills needed for people to refresh their skills as qualified first-aiders. It is is designed for people who have been designated as first-aiders within their workplace. It is also recommended for people who have a specific responsibility to provide first aid in voluntary and community activities. Course Content The role and responsibilities of a first aider Assessing an incident Managing an unresponsive casualty CPR and defibrillation Recovery Position Heart Attack Stroke Choking Epilepsy Asthma Diabetes Anaphylaxis Shock Head and spinal injuries Chest injuries Wounds and bleeding Fractures Sprains, strains and dislocations Minor injuries Burns and scalds Poisoning Eye injuries Learning Outcomes The course covers a wide variety of injuries, illnesses and emergency situations, giving delegates the ability and knowledge to become confident first aiders at work. Upon successfully completion of the course delegates become qualified first aiders, and gain a QA First Aid at Work Certificate. Course Length 3-day Maximum delegates 12 per course Assessment Practical Demonstrations and Multiple-Choice based question test Certification Upon successful completion, delegates will be awarded a First Aid at Work certificate which is valid for 3 years. Cost £250 + Vat per delegate Prerequisites Delegates must hold a current First Aid at Work certificate which is not older than 3 years from the end date of the course. Delegates must be at least 14 years old. First Aid can be physically demanding, so delegates must be physically able to cope with the requirements of the course and their role as a first aider.
