Service Description
The Emergency First Aid at Work course provides a comprehensive set of practical skills needed for people to become qualified emergency first-aiders within their workplace. It is specifically designed for Companies with low risk working environments whose first aid needs assessment has identified the Emergency First Aid at Work course to be a sufficient level of training needed for their staff to be appointed as First Aiders in the workplace, as well as for those in voluntary or community settings Syllabus The roles and responsibilities of an emergency first aid Assessing an incident Managing an unresponsive casualty CPR and defibrillation Recovery Position Choking Seizures Shock Wounds and bleeding Minor injuries - Cuts, grazes and bruises Minor burns and scalds Learning Outcomes The 1-day course will enable the participant to deal with a variety of emergency situations that they may face in the workplace. Upon successful completion of this qualification, candidates will be equipped with the essential skills needed to give safe, prompt and effective first aid in emergency situations. Course Length 1-day Maximum delegates 12 per course Assessment Practical Demonstrations and Multiple-Choice based question test Certification Upon successful completion, delegates will be awarded a Emergency First Aid at Work certificate which is valid for 3 years. Cost £120 + Vat per delegate. Prerequisites Delegates must be at least 14 years old. First Aid can be physically demanding, so delegates must be physically able to cope with the requirements of the course and their role as a first aider.
