First Aid for Parents

​By their nature, children, especially those under-five, are prone to unintentional injury.  Whether you are a parent, have children in your family, or are involved with children in another capacity, a specific  First Aid course  can help give a caregiver confidence to deal with accidents and emergency situations involving a child.

By their nature, children, especially those under-five, are prone to unintentional injury.  Whether you are a parent, have children in your family, or are involved with children in another capacity, a specific  First Aid course  can help give a caregiver confidence to deal with accidents and emergency situations involving a child.

The course duration is typically 2-hours and delivered as an open course in Cambridgeshire or to groups of participants, often in the home setting.

Designed for

Parents of all ages, expectant parents, grandparents, family members and baby sitters.


 

Course Information

Syallabus​

​

  • Dealing with an unresponsive infant or child

  • Recovery Position

  • CPR

  • Choking​

​

  • For group courses, up to an additional 1 topic* per course, can be included from the listed below.  

​​

  • Head, neck and back injuries

  • Fractures

  • Anaphylaxis and allergic reactions

  • Meningitis

  • Asthma 

  • Febrile Convulsions

  • Seizures 

  • Diabetic Emergencies

  • Poisoning

  • Burns and scalds 

  • Electric Shock

  • External Bleeding

  • Hypovolaemic Shock 

  • Eye, ear and nose conditions

  • Bites and stings

  • Minor Injuries 

  • Treatment for hot and cold body temperatures​

Learning in the right way is important. At Only First Aid we provide one option for those who wish to attend the First Aid for Parents training.

Group Booking - Classroom delivery

This course is run solely for groups. To book a course you will need a minimum of 4 people to attend. The course will be delivered at your house (or suitable premises).
